am very pleased to be able to be able to tell you how
I think Blue Valley Industries has helped me out in
the nine years I have been working here. In addition
to working on contracted jobs within Blue Valley I have
been on two job sites and each was a learning experience
for me. During these nine years I have learned to be
able to get along with others and am trying to be able
to talk with others the right way so that I can be better
able to help others.
At
Blue Valley I am on three committees, safety, activity
and handbook. I think Blue Valley Industries is a
learning environment - they make sure your safety
is their top priority. We practice drills all the
time so that everyone knows what they are doing and
that everyone is safe. They make sure everyone safely
leaves on their assigned rides at the end of the day
and they always ask how we are doing or feeling and
if there are any problems they fix them. The staff
has zero tolerance about verbal abuse and things that
can hurt your body. They work with each person and
their ability so that you will improve in use of your
abilities.
They
work hard to make sure that I have work to do, and
have work that I can do, but when we are slow they
help me with my reading and math and other skills
that will help me in my life.
The
staff is working on helping me and others to learn
how to work together and to be able to get along with
each other, so that when I, and everyone here, decides
to leave to get the real job in the community each
of us will be ready.
